Morocco Captured!

On October 21, Investing Pennies managed to capture it's first African entity - Morocco. Perhaps best known for being the resident state of Casablanca, Morocco is the African counterpart to Spain across the Gibraltar Strait. It stands as one of the gateway countries into the Mediterranean Sea. Geographically, Morocco's importance in history has often revolved around this fact. And now, I can gratefully mark this fine piece of land off of my checklist.

Another tool towards global domination! The "Feed Café" is a financial blog dedicated to providing a variety of RSS Feeds from financial experts. Through this spectrum of available knowledge, the user is able to be one step closer towards capturing a comprehensive overview of the state of the sentiment on Wall Street.

China & Ukraine! (Oct. 18, 2007)

Forgive me, I've been a little slow on updating progress. Nevertheless, what a glorious day (was Oct. 18, 2007)! With China's and Ukraine's hits captured, so likewise did I capture an additional 10% of the world were we to consider it in terms of land mass. And while unfortunately we were not, this accomplishment still stands reason enough to light up the sky with ancient fireworks & misplaced nuclear arsenals in celebration of another successful day!

It would be foolish to believe that a consistent flow of new unique hits can be retained at a linear rate. Right now it would appear that the more populated countries have tuned into my websites, but even this has only served to accomplish 20% of my goal. Different strategies are going to have to be taken to attain hits from the lesser known entities on the country hit list.

One of the reasons as to why there has been a steady flow of new unique country hits has come from my recent discovery of a free realtime online textlink-based advertiser. I found this interesting support site when one of my users found me via this program. Essentially, this free web-based program spreads your website's URL to other users who are simultaneously doing the same. It even encourages that you step away while invoking this process of spamming various addresses.

The downside to this program is clear: the people who serve as your unique hits aren't likely to be interested in your website, especially not when its flashing by in less than a second. Nevertheless, I have found this program to fully suit my current needs towards achieving my goal. The users that have used Textlinkbank.com have come from all over the world. This website has served of late as a primary contributor for international hits.

The Beginning (30 Countries)

In the amount of time it's taken to put up this website, my previously established websites were able to compile quite a number of hits from foreign states. Personally, I saw no reason to disallow the inclusion of this statistic for mere the sake establishing a timely beginning. That being said, I compiled list of these countries and will check them off and label them as "pre-10/12/2007" on the hit list. This "pre-10/12/2007" country list is noted as follows:

So where to start....

Well, square one is to know what the goal is. Therefore, for the sake of being clear, I plan on using the following list taken off of wikipedia as my definition as to what "every sovereign state in the world" will be defined as. I plan on putting up a more concise checklist in the future on one of the side bars to which I'll be checking off as this site progresses. Introduction - the World and the Internet

The World we live in is growing smaller by the second, accelerated at the high speed of wireless broadband and the expanding bandwidth capacity of an evolving network. The Internet has served as a catalyst of this globalization, offering the tool of connectivity in a world-wide web of information between peoples both near and far alike.

"My World Hits" will be a blog dedicated to my pursuit to be connected to Internet users across the span of the globe. It is my goal to have been linked & indirectly connected to at least one person from every sovereign state on Earth.

Thanks to a program called StatCounter, I will be able to track the locations of individuals who come across as hits on my websites. This particular website will be used to update my progress towards the achievement of this ambitious goal.
